About the automatic caries risk calculation

This form automatically calculates the overall risk level from the selections below.

  • Any single high-risk factor, or only moderate factors with no protective selections, sets the overall risk to High.
  • A mix of moderate and low factors, with no high-risk factors, sets the overall risk to Moderate.
  • Protective and low-risk factors only will set the overall risk to Low.

This table is adapted from the ODQ caries classification and management course, which itself is an amalgamation of CAMBRA, ADA and Caries Care International guidelines.
